AI Transparency Notice
Last updated: March 2026
At Next-Gen Tutor, we believe in being transparent about how artificial intelligence powers our platform. This page explains in plain language what AI does, what it doesn't do, and how it affects your experience.
1. You Are Practising With AI, Not a Human
When you start a session on Next-Gen Tutor, you are having a conversation with an AI-powered virtual tutor. The avatar you see is computer-generated, the voice is synthesised, and the responses are produced by a large language model. There is no human on the other end of the conversation.
We design our AI tutors to be helpful, patient, and encouraging — but they are not real people and may occasionally make errors or produce unexpected responses.
2. How Your Sessions Work
- You speak or type — your input is captured as text
- The AI generates a response — a language model creates an appropriate reply based on your level, topic, and the conversation context
- The response becomes voice — text-to-speech technology converts the reply into natural-sounding audio
- The avatar animates — the avatar's face moves in sync with the audio to create a realistic conversation experience
3. How Your Scores Are Generated
After each session, our system analyses your performance using a combination of:
- Rule-based analysis — pattern matching for common grammar errors, vocabulary range, sentence structure
- Statistical measures — word count, turn length, response variety, conversation engagement
Your overall score is calculated as a weighted average:
- Grammar & Accuracy: 30%
- Vocabulary Range: 25%
- Fluency & Coherence: 25%
- Engagement & Interaction: 20%
4. What AI Cannot Do
Our AI has limitations you should be aware of:
- Cannot certify your level — scores and CEFR suggestions are estimates, not official certifications
- Cannot replace human teachers — AI practice complements but does not substitute professional language instruction
- May make mistakes — AI can occasionally generate incorrect grammar corrections or inappropriate suggestions
- Cannot understand context perfectly — nuance, cultural references, and complex humour may be misinterpreted
- Does not remember between sessions — each session starts fresh; the AI does not retain memory of previous conversations
5. Your Data and AI
During sessions, your conversation is processed by AI services to generate responses. Here is what happens with your data:
- Session transcripts are stored on our servers for feedback generation and progress tracking
- Transcripts are sent to AI providers (OpenAI/AIML) for response generation during the session only
- No personal data (name, email, payment) is shared with AI providers
- You can delete your session history by contacting our support team
6. Continuous Improvement
We regularly review and update our AI systems to:
- Improve the accuracy of feedback and scoring
- Reduce errors and inappropriate responses
- Enhance the naturalness of conversations
- Ensure compliance with evolving regulations
